I love having fresh cut flowers... Especially right now in early Spring when I'm yearning for blooms but my garden isn't growing yet.
But, at the store, I debated just getting potted flowers because we all know they last longer. Spending money on cut flowers that, you know, no matter how beautiful when you first put them in a vase on your kitchen table, are already in the process of dying.
That flower may stay just as colourful & vibrant for a few days but it was still cut from its roots.
When it's no longer connected to the source that sustains it, gradually, what once was thriving becomes withered and fragile.

For a Christian without connection to God, the outward expression of their faith can appear intact, for a little while... but it can't survive without constant renewal from His presence, wisdom from The Word and encouragement from community.

So stay planted, remain connected, and keep drawing from the Source of everlasting life.
