“Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark.” I’m Care, and this week’s Monday Motivation quote is from 19th Century poet, composer, & philosopher Rabindranath Tagore.
I woke up to the sound of morning birds chirping, even though it was still dark out. How can they be so melodic and hopeful this early?, I thought. It’s as if THEY KNOW they can still sing in the darkness. That’s something I can learn from birds: they trust that the sun will rise and they know that it’s spring, even though it can’t be seen.
Are you one of those people who doesn't sing because you don't feel very inspired, or like you're just not very good at it? Do it anyway! If only the best singing birds got to sing the forest would be very quiet. Mornings would be different. That's not how God designed birds. That's not how God designed us either! I believe we were each created with a song in our hearts: to worship our Creator and to express ourselves, whether or not we feel like it, or feel like we're any good at it. There is always reason to sing... even when it’s dark.
