Helping Families in Aylmer

trudy_100My husband, Len and I were part of the Aylmer Sector Media Guignolée this morning which raised funds for the Aylmer Food Bank. The Guignolée is an annual event that takes place the first week of December across the entire province of Quebec to raise funds for local food banks leading up to Christmas when it is much needed.

Residents of Gatineau generously donated on their commute to work and the group we were with at the intersection of St. Raymond & des Trembles Boulevards raised $3,598.54 this morning (between 6:00 and 9:00 AM). The total raised for the entire Aylmer Sector was $12,296.85. A big thank you to Michel Brazeau the organizer of our group who always does a remarkable job of getting everything just right. It was great fun and gave me, and I'm sure all of the volunteers, a wonderful feeling of satisfaction in knowing that in a small way we've helped make the lives of some of our fellow citizens a little less difficult this Christmas season.
