This one is for the teenagers! This March Break you could learn the art of cooking. We’re giving you a chance to win a full registration for the March Break Teen Chef Class at C'est Bon Cooking.

Contest is open to teens ages 14-18 but parents can enter on behalf of their teen(s). One email per teen.

DETAILS:

  • Food Fundaments – Teen Chef
  • Monday, March 16th – Friday, March 20th, 20th*
  • 1pm - 4pm
  • 361 Daly Ave (in Sandy Hill)
  • $450 per participant plus tax (minimum 14 years of age). Includes free apron.
  • Week-long exploration of kitchen fundamentals
  • Participants work closely with master chef Andrée Riffou and guest chefs
  • Learn a variety of essential cooking techniques
  • Dramatically improve a young person’s competence in the kitchen
  • Gives teenagers the cooking skills and confidence they’ll need for life
  • Fun memories!

Schedule:

• Day 1: Soups
Learn chopping techniques and how to make stocks for cream, onion and farmer’s soups.
• Day 2: Eggs
Learn to prepare basic egg dishes, soufflés and sauces.
• Day 3: Fish and shellfish
Learn to steam, poach and grill.
• Day 4: Poultry and meat
Learn to roast, braise and stuff chicken and meats.
• Day 5: Vegetables
Learn to blanch, slice and infuse a variety of vegetables.

Chef Andree Bio:

Chef Andrée studied cuisine and pastry with Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa and Paris, attaining the school’s highest qualification: Le Grand Diplôme de cuisine et de pâtisserie. She launched C’est Bon Cooking in 2008 before going on to complete apprenticeships in France and Canada.

Chef Andrée believes cooking and eating are activities to be shared and enjoyed together with family and friends. Her goal is to deliver a fun and rewarding learning experience that engages all the senses in a celebration of the precious gift of food.
