Honouring our Past, Building for the Future

redeemer_campaignthmbI was "Out and About" at Redeemer Christian High School last Friday evening for the official kick off to their Capital Campaign to raise funds for a building expansion and renovation project. It was very exciting to see the details unpackaged for the broader audience...

... see the building plans and hear of the great need for this expansion from Redeemer students and teachers. Redeemer is hoping to raise $1.5 million dollars to expand the gym, cafeteria, create a new biology lab, and create new drama and music practice space.

It was announced by Campaign Chair Mary Ritskes that they've already raised $419,350 towards their goal! Needless to say, this was met with wild applause and added to the celebrations that night.

Then a challenge went out to Redeemer Alumni, that long-time math teacher Dave Naftel, will cut his long hair if Alumni contribute towards the capital campaign (see photo). How much is he challenging alumni to raise? Well, $100,000 is the ticket amount to get Mr. Naftel to cut his hair. I think when the $100,000 is raised he should also shave his beard! What do you think?!
